Mobil Rewards

As part of the launch of Mobil Smiles Driver Rewards Programme, we were asked to design, build and film a robot as it communicates with the unsuspecting public, often with hilarious results.

Creative

We worked with agency DDB to design then build a robot unit with the goal to have it interact in a genuine way with passersby. To achieve this, we placed a comedian inside the robot and using voice amplification we had an exterior screen play different facial animations that were relevant to what was being said. We controlled these on the day via an app. The action was filmed at various Auckland locations over two days, specifically for Facebook with two handheld cameras plus two fixed go-pros and audio system.
